Sujeev Shakya strives to lead positive transformation of individuals and organizations.

He currently leads beed management, (www.beed.com.np) Nepal based management consulting and financial advisory firm that is attempting to extend its footprint beyond Nepal. He possesses a unique combination of understanding in finance as a professional accountant, and strategy, brands and marketing through his academic and operational experience. He leverages his experience of over two decades, which includes heading one of Nepal’s largest business groups as well as engaging in various not-for-profits in Nepal and outside, cross-cutting many sectors.

In his role as Founder CEO of beed, he leads a company with a global mindset that engages across a variety of profit and not for profits in Nepal and outside. The reputation of being able to successfully close deals and pioneer fund-raising makes beed receive a high deal flow as well as access to investors. Making integrity, transparency and professionalism a comparative advantage, beed has been able to serve, over seventy international and Nepali businesses and organizations since it came into operation five years ago.

His success stems from being able to continuously innovate, leverage opportunities and most prominently, lead diverse teams. He takes keen interest in mentoring his team members and facilitates in realizing their potential. More than sixty people have made it through the beed experience in various capacities, including internships, and this experience has helped them to discover and secure better opportunities for themselves. He has led the foray of beed to Rwanda, a pioneering effort taking Nepali firms global.

He is regarded as a thought leader in the field of business environment and economic development in Nepal. He wrote a popular column ‘Arthabeed’ in the English weekly Nepali Times from 2000 to 2010. His bestseller book Unleashing NepalPast, Present and Future of the Economy (Penguin 2009) is used extensively as a ready reckoner to understand Nepal’s economic paradigm. He Chairs the Nepal Economic Forum (www.nepaleconomicforum.org) which, through its Business Policy Research Center and Center for Public Private Community Partnership, continues to engage as a private sector initiative to development. He is currently a columnist with Nepal's Leading Daily - The Kathmandu Post.

His academic and professional degrees engage with three pillars – finance, marketing and human capital. His first professional degree was Chartered Accountancy from The Institute of Chartered Accountant of India followed by Graduate Diploma in International Marketing from Boston University and recently the Certification in Coaching from Columbia University. His continuous quest for knowledge exchange earned him the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship from US Department of State.

He speaks extensively on leadership, business and economic development issues. His proprietary programs include Vision Mandala, an organization visioning and strategic planning tool and different variants of the leadership thinkshop: Unleashing Nepal – Unleashing You. Nearly 200 people have attended his thinkshops in Nepal and Bhutan.
